Electronic Prescribing
Posted or Updated on 25 Jun 2024
Most prescriptions are now processed electronically - this helps save the NHS money
Almost all of our prescriptions are signed and sent electronically, this leads to a more efficient, faster and secure service.
Please can we ask that you make sure you have a nominated pharmacy where we can send your prescription electronically to. This service has been extremely valuable to us during the current time and we will continue to use this.
For those patients that do not have a nomination your prescription is signed electronically and you are provided with a token that has a unique barcode. You will need to take this to a pharmacy of your choice where they will scan the token to retrieve your prescription and begin the dispensing process.
Any existing paper prescriptions will remain valid until their normal expiry date.
If you would like to nominate a pharmacy please contact the reception team.
